Welcome to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University! At the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISS), we understand that transitioning to a new country and university can be both exciting and overwhelming. That is why we are here to support you every step of the way. 

As part of our commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for all incoming international students, we have developed a comprehensive pre-arrival orientation communication schedule.  We will be connecting with you through newsletters, social media and New to NU Summer Q & A sessions.  

From monthly newsletters to interactive Q & A sessions on Zoom, we have designed our communication plan to provide you with the information and support you need to thrive during your time at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. Whether you have questions about obtaining your visa, requesting your I-20 or simply want to connect with fellow students, our team is here to assist you.  We encourage you to take advantage of these resources and stay connected with our team throughout the summer.  

New to NU: Summer Q & A Sessions 

The summer  are designed to address any questions or concerns you may have as you prepare for your arrival at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. We encourage you to mark your calendars and join us for these informative and interactive sessions! 

  • Requesting your I-20 or DS-2019: June 14, 9:00 a.m. CT
    • This webinar focuses on guiding incoming international students through the process of requesting the Form I-20 (for F-1 visa) or DS-2019 (for J-1 visa), which are essential documents for international students intending to study in the United States.
  • Obtaining your Visa: June 28, 9:00 a.m. CT
    • This session is aimed at helping incoming international students understand and navigate the visa application process. It covers the necessary steps, documentation, and tips for a successful visa application to study in the United States.
  • Undergraduate Students Homebase Review: July 12, 9:00 a.m. CT
    • This webinar provides information specifically tailored to incoming international undergraduate students. It includes details about academic programs, campus life, support services, and other resources available to undergraduate students at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University.
  • Graduate and PhD Homebase Review: July 26, 9:00 a.m. CT
    • This session is designed for incoming graduate and PhD students. It likely covers topics such as research opportunities, faculty mentorship, graduate housing, funding options, and other specific aspects of graduate and doctoral studies at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University.
  • Arrival and Orientation: August 9, 9:00 a.m. CT (undergraduate students)  and 10:00 a.m. CT (graduate students) 
    • This webinar focuses on the logistics and preparations for international students arriving on campus. It covers information about arrival procedures, orientation schedules, campus tours, housing check-in, and introductions to campus resources.
  • Open Q & A: August 23, 9:00 a.m. CT (undergraduate students) and 10:00 a.m. CT (graduate students)
    • This session is a general Q&A where incoming international students can ask questions on any topic related to their international student experience. It provides a platform for addressing miscellaneous concerns, clarifications, or inquiries that may not fit into the specific themes of other webinars.
